Google SERP’s Start Reflecting the Mobilegeddon Update

Google’s 21 April 2015 Mobile Friendly Update
Behold, as promised by Google it seems the day is here and the Mobilegeddon has begun. As stated on the Google Webmaster Central Blog the update will be majorly affecting:

1. More mobile-friendly websites in search results

Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.

2. More relevant app content in search results

Starting today, we will begin to use information from indexed apps as a factor in ranking for signed-in users who have the app installed. As a result, we may now surface content from indexed apps more prominently in search.

First it was just the “Mobile Friendly” text that was showing up, but, recently while doing research regarding the update we discovered a major shift on the SERP’s that maybe affecting the CTR’s of even mobile friendly websites, and the way google maybe displaying the search results on mobile in the coming days.

Google’s Mobile Update 21 April SERP Changes

As per the screen shot it seems, that even if the website is properly optimized for mobile, but has too much data to load, you maybe losing CTR due to the warning sign shown on slower connections.

Maybe google is just testing we are not sure about it, but if this is not a test large websites may see a downfall in their click through rate via mobile.
